Malaysian entrepreneurs urged to work closely with the Cambodian govt: Muhyiddin

PHNOM PENH: Malaysian entrepreneurs operating their businesses in Cambodia have been urged to work closely with the Cambodian government, Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin said.

The deputy prime minister said like Malaysia, the Cambodian government has rolled out a plan to turn Cambodia into a developed country.
 
  “Apart from generating profit, Malaysian entrepreneurs could help boost the economic growth in Cambodia and improve the economy of their people.
 
  “We should bring in our capital, experience and technology expertise to work together with the Cambodian government," Muhyiddin said in his speech during a dinner with Malaysians here tonight.
 
  More than 1,000 Malaysia residing here attended the dinner, hosted by the Embassy of Malaysia in Cambodia.
 
  Present were Malaysian Ambassador in Cambodia Raszlan Abdul Rashid and Malacca chief minister Datuk Seri Idris Haron.
 
  Muhyiddin also said the Cambodian government had given its highest respect to the Malaysian government, which is among the highest foreign investors in Cambodia following the commitment by several senior Cambodian ministers in attending the roundtable meeting between captains of industry from Malaysia and Cambodia Friday.
 
  Muhyiddin is scheduled to jointly chair the meeting with one of the five deputy prime ministers of Cambodia, Keat Chhon.
 
  During the dinner, Muhyiddin also shared with guests Malaysia’s success stories, including the economic and social impacts of the Government Transformation Programme, which he said had entered its second phase.
 
  He also explained how the Bantuan Rakyat 1Malaysia (BR1M) aid had benefited people in the Malaysia.
