THE father of a Torquay man jailed in Cambodia has joined a London demonstration calling for his immediate release.
Gregg Fryett has been in jail in Cambodia for 10 months facing money laundering and fraud charges relating to a land deal concerning his biofuel company in Cambodia.
His father, Peter Fryett, from Preston, Paignton, was among a group who delivered a letter to the Cambodian prime minister Hun Sen at the country's embassy in London. Peter Fryett was joined by investors in Sustainable AgroEnergy Ltd calling on the Prime Minister to step into the case to allow his immediate release.
Mr Fryett said: "We were able to deliver our letter, but we were unable to see an ambassador. We were able to put our points and I hope it will be effective."
SAE clients are demanding answers as to where their land and investment has gone and what action the UK and Cambodian governments are taking.
They have questioned what is being done by Cambodian authorities to recover their land and investment. Similar submissions are being made at other embassies around the world.
Gregg Fryett, travelled to Cambodia to meet with authorities in March. His supporters say despite assurances of safe travel from these authorities, he was arrested.
The investors also want answers to why the sellers of the land are not being treated in the same way as foreigners.

Letters have also been sent to Home Secretary Theresa May and Justice Minister Chris Grayling calling for intervention.
