The governor, who sat in the front passenger seat next to his driver, was on his way from Banteay Meanchey to Phnom Penh.
The driver only sustained minor injures because his vehicle crashed and sustained most of its damage on the right side where the governor was seating.
The driver with the truck had fled the scene of the accident.
