Koy Kuong, spokesman for Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, is speaking to reporters after the meeting between Joachim Baronvon Marschall, German Ambassador to Cambodia, and Cambodia's Foreign Minister Hor Namhong
PHNOM PENH (The Cambodia Herald) -- The newly-appointed German Ambassador to Cambodia, Joachim Baronvon Marschall, urged both political parties in Cambodia on Wednesday to come to the negotiation table to break the country’s political deadlock, according to a ministry spokesman.
Koy Kuong, spokesman for Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, said that the German Ambassador made his comment during a meeting with Cambodia’s Foreign Minister Hor Namhong.
Speaking to reporters, he said at the meeting held at the Foreign Affairs Ministry, Hor Namhong stressed the smooth and peaceful nature of Cambodia's recent general election as well as having around 60 percent of all Cambodian citizens casting their ballots.
The issues that occurred during the election have been solved by the National Election Committee and Cambodia’s top institution, the Constitutional Council, Kuong quoted Hor Namhong as saying.
The German Ambassador raised the topic of the opposition's recent successful and peaceful mass protest, which he believes is the way towards democracy in Cambodia, Kuong said.
The Cambodian People’s Party has left the door opened to negotiations with the Cambodia National Rescue Party over the disagreements, but the recent requests by the opposition have to be reasonable as well as be made in accordance with the law, Hor Namhong said.

It was funny to hear the people in the gang of Hun saying after one another the same repeatedly. He problem of election has been solved by NEC and Constituional Council. We would not let our land loss to he neighbors even 1 mm. Then these kinds of words have been resonated echo through ranks and files. It is good to speak in one voice but those people lack of common knowledge of self awareness.
