Gen. Hing Bunheang (front), Commander of Hun Sen's Bodyguard Unit. There were unconfirmed rumours on Facebook that he had ordered two of his closest confidants to assassinate PM Hun Sen while Mr. Hun Sen inaugurates Chea Sim University in Kamchay Mear in Prey Veng province on 6th June 2013. The assassination attempt was foiled when other Hun Sen's bodyguards saw Gen. Hing Bunheang's men loaded a gun to shoot Mr. Hun Sen while the PM was shaking hands with the people at the inauguration. The suspected would-be assassins were arrested and taken away in a car and their fate or whereabouts remain unknown. Please read about the assassination attempt on Hun Sen's life here.

The news is not credible yet, but if Hing Bunheang is sacked and arrested then the news is true. If Hing Bunheang is still the commander of Hun sen bodyguard unit then the news is false.

Well..at least we know that one of Hun Sen's closest allies was trying to eliminate him. I can see it, Hun Sen's death will be by the hand of his subordinates.
