PHNOM PENH (The Cambodia Herald) --Funcinpec Party
president, Nhiek Bunchhay, denied that he was hiding, Yean Sina,
under-secretary of state at the Ministry of Justice, from the police.
Yean Sina, currently being searched by officers, was accused of taking part in the beatings of ten journalists after a road accident.
In Friday's press conference, the Deputy Prime Minister said, Yean Sina was fired from his position and the party is not willing to get his back.
"I clearly announce that I have the right to decide on any official who mistreats journalists, and breaks the law," he said. “We are the Funcinpec party and we respect the law.
"Whatever the punishment may be, we will respect the decision.
"Because he broke the law and committed violence, the party decided to oust him from his position but he will still remain as a member," he said.
"He will serve the punishment, according to the law, for the crime he committed."
Nhiek Bunchhay strongly denied the news that he had helped Yean Sina hide in his house.
"No, that's not true. I can’t hide wrong doers, and if it is the case, I too didn't respect the law and should also be punished," he added.

Nhek Bun Chhay already sold the position of
under secretary for eight thousand dollars . Mr Nhek has
known Mr Yean's hiding place in Cambodia but he wants
to milk some more money from his disgraceful crony before
the culprit is let go to Khmer-Thai border . The US government should deport Mr Yean back to Cambodia to
be rotten & eaten by prison cockroaches . No need to burden American taxpayers .
