Opposition lawmaker opens fire over scratched car [Maybe the soldier was sent by the ruling CPP to scratch the opposition MP's car]

PHNOM PENH, 19 February 2013 (The Cambodia Herald) -- Sam Rainsy Party lawmaker Noun Vuthy opened fire to alert police overnight while chasing a drunken soldier who scratched his car, police said Tuesday.

Police said they questioned the 40-year-old lawmaker at Sen Sok district police station.

The soldier was identified as Hok Sophat, an army captain from Mean Chey district.

How can Cambodia Herald written article base on the words "Maybe" accusing the other party without merit or proof? This culture must stop to heal the wound of hatred between khmers and khmers.

This is problem with people living in Cambodia - they open fire for car scratching - intentional or not. This is because they have guns. What about people who do not have guns - what can they do?? Being the opposition lawmaker - they should have behaved better than those CPP thuggeries/gangsters in power. The car scratching could have been an accident - where is the presumption that innocence until proven guilty preached by SRP??
