Internship Opportunity
The Cambodian Center for Human Rights (CCHR) is a non-political, independent, non-governmental
organization that works to promote and protect democracy and respect for human
rights throughout the Kingdom of Cambodia.
Currently, CCHR is seeking to
recruit two Cambodian candidates for the position of two Internships They
are both full time position for a period of six (6) months, based in Phnom
Penh. The selected candidates will work closely with the Human Rights
Defenders Project (HRDs) which aims to promote and protect
the human rights of HRDs who are under threat and to empower them to defend
the rights of others and to improve the overall situation of human rights in
Cambodia.
1.
INTERN
DUTIES AND
KEY RESPONSIBILITY
-
Follow the news and keep a daily record of the
situation of HRDs;
-
Monitor HRD’s
cases at trial hearings where required;
-
Create case files of HRDs at risk and keep them
updated;
-
Communicate with
other relevant NGOs in the field;
-
Provide
administrative support to the HRD Committee as directed by the project
coordinator;
-
Travel to places
other than CCHR office if necessary;
-
Apply the
organization’s policies and maintain the organization’s resources.
REQUIREMENTS
-
Recent university
graduate or year-4 university student in law or related field;
-
Decent command in
English language (communication and writing) is an asset;
-
Passion for Human
Rights, democracy development and rule of law;
-
Able to work
under pressure;
-
Honest, creative,
flexible, hardworking, able to accept different opinions and willing to improve
self-development skills;
-
Computer skills
including Microsoft Office, Internet and Email is preferable;
-
No work
experience is required;
2.
IT INTERN
DUTIES
AND KEY RESPONSIBILITY
-
Assist the team in the development of the new HRD website
and to encode and upload data into the website.
-
Provide technical support and general administration to
the team as required.

Assisting in maintaining computer networks and printer;
-
Applying the organization’s policies and maintaining the
organization’s resources
REQUIREMENTS
-
Recent
University graduate or year-4 University Student in Information Technology (IT); Web
Development being preferable;
-
Good
command of the English language—reading, writing and speaking;
-
Interested
in the advocacy of human rights;
-
Good
communication skills;
-
Honest,
hard working and willing to learn;
-
No work experience is required.
