PHNOM PENH, 22 January 2013 (The Cambodia Herald) - Cambodian lawmakers will attend a
five-day meeting of the Asia-Pacific Parliamentary Forum (APPF) in the
Russian Far East port city of Vladivostok next week.
In a statement Tuesday, the Secretariat General of the National Assembly said the Cambodian delegation would be led by Chheang Vun, chairman of the Commission on Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation, Information and Media.
The statement said the meeting from Sunday would discuss regional peace and stability, democratic expansion, respect for integrity, a vision for creating a regional peace network and an action plan.
The meeting will also discuss cooperation in preventing and managing natural disasters and protecting the environment as well as trade and economic cooperation and regional integration.
The forum was established in Tokyo in 1993 and now has 27 member countries. Cambodia became a member in 1995.
