BANGKOK, 4 January 2013: Cambodia Angkor Air will start a daily service between Phnom Penh and Bangkok, 1 February. The airline launched its first service to Thailand, 30 November from Siem Reap and is scheduled to start a service to Hanoi 7 January.
The Bangkok-bound flight will depart Phnom Penh at 1215 and return at 1420. Flight time is just one hour and five minutes using a 184-seat Airbus A321.

Three Thai airlines serve the Cambodian capital — Thai Airways International ( two daily), Bangkok Airways (four daily) and Thai AirAsia (two daily). Air France offers a three-weekly service, Paris-Bangkok- Phnom Penh, with full traffic rights, but the Phnom Penh sector will be cut end of this March.
In the Bangkok market, Cambodian Angkor Air offers a promotional fare to Phnom Penh at Bt4,470, all inclusive and valid until 28 February.
The deal is 48% down from its lowest regular fare, Bt8,530 and is even cheaper than the low cost Thai AirAsia’s current promotion, Bt5,310.
The full service carriers, Thai Airways International sells its economy class seat from Bt11,005, while Bangkok Airways, Bt9,080. Cambodia Angkor quotes business class fare at Bt13,970 compared to THAI’s Bt17,230 and Bangkok Airways’ Bt25,280.
The carrier also has a promotional fare on the Bangkok-Siem Reap route until 31 January at Bt6,680, which is almost 50% off Bangkok Airways’ fare, Bt11,140.
Its regular fares start at Bt10,380.
The daily Siem Reap-Bangkok service departs Cambodia at 1545 and returns at 1750 using ATR72 aircraft.

The Cambodian flagship carrier will also commence a Phnom Penh-Hanoi daily service, 7 January departing Phnom Penh at 1655 and departing Hanoi at 0915.
On the same day its Siem Reap-Ho Chi Minh City flights will increase from three daily to four. It will add seat capacity on the Phnom Penh-Ho Chi Minh route by switching from an ATR-72 to the larger A321 for one of its two daily flight (evening) from Phnom Penh.
From 16 January, it will increase weekly services on the Phnom Penh- Siem Reap from 32 to 35 flights a week.
Cambodia Angkor has a fleet of four A321 and one ATR72 with three domestic destinations– Phnom Penh, Siem Reap, Sihanoukville and three regional destinations – HCMC, Hanoi and Bangkok.
