PHNOM PENH (The Cambodia Herald) - About 50 residents from property
development site Boeung Kok marched Wednesday to the Office of the
Council of Ministers.
The protestors carried a petition to the World Bank and Prime Minister Hun Sen’s son Hun Manith, deputy chief of the National Authority for Land Dispute Solution.
According to the petition, the residents want land titles for 32 families in villages 19, 24 and 6 and another 29 families.
The protestors also called for a halt to evictions without proper compensation and the release of Youm Bopha, jailed last month for attempted violence against two motorcycle taxi drivers.
