The owner and publisher of Deum Ampil newspaper, Soy Sopheap, has self-published a book with copies of exchanges between opposition leaders and Prime Minister Hun Sen’s government over the years.

Sopheap, who says he helped facilitate many of the requests and responses as a kind of middleman, put out 30 copies of the book and plans to distribute them to friends and journalists interested in political science.
Seeking Political Resolution for Senior Politicians and Human Rights Activists contains information from disputes between the Cambodian People’s Party and Prince Norodom Ranariddh, self-exiled opposition leader Sam Rainsy, Human Rights Party president Kem Sokha and currently imprisoned Beehive Radio station owner Mam Sonando, among others.
“This book is research material and seeks to understand politics in Cambodia,” he said.
Some of the information also includes conversational letters between Sopheap and the opposition leaders that touch on the messages they want to send to the government.
