PHNOM PENH (The Cambodia Herald) - Viettel (Cambodia) Co Ltd expects
earnings to rise almost 10 percent to about $280 million in 2012, deputy
chief Tran Le Phong said.
The Vietnamese operator of the Metfone network expects to pay $60 million in taxes this year, up from $52 million last year when earnings were $255 million.
Established in 2006, Metfone claims 49 percent of the mobile market, 80 percent of the cordless phone market and 50 percent of internet connections.
Parent company Viettel is a state-owned company controlled by the Vietnamese Ministry of Defense.
