The
forces of democracy in Cambodia are greatly encouraged that the
leadership of the U.S. remains in the hands of a proven defender of
freedom and self-determination. Time and again during your first term
you proved a source of hope to those who are engaged in the struggle for
democracy everywhere.
I hope and trust that you will use your visit to Cambodia this month to help Cambodians enjoy the genuine democratic rights that Americans have exercised.
