PHNOM PENH (Cambodia Herald) - Singer Pich Sophea
began her working career as a young girl wandering dangerous city
streets selling sugarcane and snails to support her family.
After ten years with Hong Meas Production, however, she now enjoys great success and is preparing to release a new album to coincide with the current Pchum Ben festival.
The 28-year-old singer says she has also set up her own dancing group known as SP.
Pich Sophea is the youngest of three sisters from Me Sang district in Prey Veng province. She went to Pras Sisovath College but had to quit school when she was in 11th grade because of her family’s poverty.
Many people know the singer from her first album "No Better Day" which was widely acclaimed.
