SINCE 1997 hundreds of people have been inspired to support the work of Peter Moore, but few more so than Sunbury's Kaye Taylor-Law.
Mr Moore, a former midwife and nurse at the old Sunbury Hospital, was so taken by the poverty of the Cambodian village he was visiting he stayed and pledged to help improve it.
He sold his house in Diggers Rest and used the money to build a school at Phum Veal, 70km from Phnom Penh, a place he now calls home.

Mrs Taylor-Law, a retired nurse, has visited Phum Veal once a year since 2004 and helps Mr Moore's Four Winds Cambodia Project.
A keen craftswoman, Mrs Taylor-Law dedicates all of the proceeds from her hand-made glass artwork to the village.
She has also personally contributed $25,000 to the cause and helps to spread the word about the charity.
On each visit she stays with Mr Moore and his family and helps out in the village including the health clinic built underneath his house.
"There are now two schools in the village, a community vegetable garden, orchard, fish pond and 15 orphans are supported," she said.
"We also set-up a meals on wheels (by bicycles) where meals are delivered to people needing them, many of them disabled."
On her last trip Mrs Taylor-Law took with her 104 polo shirts, formally uniforms from Sunbury College, for their own students to wear.
Mrs Taylor-Law said the Mr Moore's passion for Phum Veal had rubbed off on his former colleagues in Sunbury and surrounds.
He regularly runs tours for visitors with many, like herself, becoming deeply committed to his work.
