In a speech during a graduation ceremony in Phnom Penh on 1st of August, Prime Minister Hun Sen blasted Mr. Sean Pengse, chairman of the Paris-based Cambodian Border Committee, for failing to reclaim Koh Wai or Koh Poulo Wai Islands from Vietnam when he was Minister of Energy, Mineral and Industry during the Khmer Republican regime from 1970-1975.
Mr. Hun Sen said that Vietnam had annexed Koh Wai during the Long Nol regime from 1970-1975. However, in a statement in response to Mr. Hun Sen's accusation, Mr. Sean Pengse said that Koh Wai was ceded to Vietnam in the 1982 Treaty signed by Mr. Hun Sen and Vietnam's Foreign Minister Nguyen Co Thach on 7 July 1982.
Mr. Sean Pengse said that Koh Wai or Koh Poulo Wai was always under the control of Cambodia even during the Sangkum Reastr Niyum, Lon Nol regime and the Khmer Rouge regime. It was only ceded to Vietnam under the 1982 Treaty signed by Mr. Hun Sen.
He said during the Khmer Rouge regime, Vietnam controlled Koh Wai and the nearby Koh Tang briefly from 10th June 1975 to 12th August 1975, but the Khmer Rouge regime sent troops to reclaim the island. I knew a guy, now living in Australia, who was a Khmer Rouge soldier. He said in 1975, he and hundreds of Khmer Rouge soldiers were sent to attack Vietnamese forces on Koh Tang and Koh Wai islands. He said many Vietnamese soldiers were killed and Cambodian troops took back and controlled the islands. So, it is proof that the islands were in Khmer hands all along, except when Hun Sen sign to give them away to Vietnam in 1982.
I’m wondering, what was the perspective of young generation student thinking (the students of Hun sen era) while Hun sen was blasting Mr. Sean Pengse in order to keep Koh Poulo Wai for Vietnam?
I believe Sir Sang pangse. because he is older than Hun cent he've been a round longer than Hun Yuon Sen.He said he was minister of energy during sangkum Reastr yum and Lon Nol era.I believed Seng pangse telling the truth.
Prime Minister Hun Sen is a Liar when it comes to depute with Vietnam.

You should go back to Cambodia and have the right to protest officially again the decision of the today Cambodian Government. What you now did here in France, it will not affect the situation in our country, because your voice just kick off on the air in Khmer
Each time in Cambodia when talking against Vietnam, Mr. Hun sen become a pitbull, one of a kind the most aggressive dog in the world.
When it comes to border dipute with Vietnam, I do not side with Prime Minister Hun Sen. However,I think we have the same feeling as those Vietnamese people which express thier frustration and dismay toward China about SCS. At the same time, these Vietnamese don't understand our feeling and even support their government to take more land from Cambodia. Greed?

I agree with you 100%. We MUST find a ways to united and this time have a true patriotic leaders who don't sell out to our hungry thief neighbors. I think it is very difficult to fund these kind of leaders in Cambodia. Our past and currents leaders always made deals with either Viets or Siam, every time we asked them for helps to overthrow any Cambodian sitting PM we always end up losing a chunk of Cambodia territories.
Our neighbors created Khmer Rough and then they helped get rid of KR. Magic they get our islands and all the sea areas came with those islands. They also moved many border posts deep inside Cambodia while we too busy killing each others. Cambodian are stupidity and I hope we still have some new generations that don't make mistakes like their parents and grandparents.
Blame on a hun kwack people. Sell khmer lands to ah youn.
