PHNOM PENH, 27 August 2012 (Cambodia Herald) - Cambodian Watchdog Council President Rong
Chhun (pictured) wrote to the Phnom Penh Magistrate's Court Monday requesting to
visit to Mam Sonando, the detained president of the Association of
Democrats.
In the letter, Rong Chhun asked to be accompanied by seven people from the Watchdog Council for the visit next Sunday.
Mam Sonando, who also owns Beehive Radio, has been in Prey Sor prison for a month on suspicion of being involved in a failed secession in Kratie that was put down by armed forces in May.

Sam Rainsy lawmakers led by Mu Sochua have already visited Mam Sonando, who was jailed with Rong Chhun in 2005 after the two criticized the government's border treaty with Vietnam.
