PHNOM PENH, 16th August 2012 (Cambodia Herald) - The Cambodian League for the Promotion
and Defense of Human Rights (Licadho) has expressed concern over a court
request for a human rights activist to appear in court on August 24.
Activist Chan Saveth has been accused of helping perpetrators of an attempted secession in Kratie in May which was put down by armed forces.
"The accusation has had a negative impact on other human right officers," Licadho president Pung Chhievkek said Wednesday. "I urge the court to investigate the matter clearly."
Chan Savet meanwhile denied breaking the law. "I will take part in the hearing on August 24 as I cannot reject the order," he said.

What if you didn't do anything like Mam Sonondo.Is that fair to put him in jail unjustly?!? Jungle's law is everyone fears the most,U.E or U.S no one enforces jungles law!!!! They prosecute you if you use Jungle's law upon their citizens or aliens alike.
Aliens=humanbeing lives illegally in U.E/U.S.by law everyone should be threated the same regardless of the statue,illegal or not.
6:34 AM, many people in this forum live in USA or Europe so they know pretty well the justice system in those countries - the courts are very independent. In Cambodia, the law is in Hun Sen's lip, whatever he say is the law. Hun Sen tells the court who is guilty and who is not guilty.
It's unfortunate, the Vietminh Hun Sen is a King, a judge, a Prime minister, a Buddhist devoter, yet his actions shows he's a Youn, a Khmer Rogue commander, a traitor and a ruthless murderer. He can't even speak Khmer properly, he can't even read Khmer.
Why do the Vietnamese say Hun Sen is a Vietnamese hero?
