PHNOM PENH, 17th August 2012 (Cambodia Herald) - A machinery and textiles fair opened at
Koh Pich Center Friday with merchandise displayed by some 200 companies
from 20 countries, organizers said.
Mao Thura, secretary of state at the Ministry of Commerce, said the fair was more than a third bigger than last year's exhibition, the first of its type in Cambodia.
"This commercial event will pioneer the development of Cambodia's existing and future machine industry with high technology," he said.
The fair, which lasts until Monday, has been organized by a Hong Kong company in collaboration with the Ministry of Commerce, the Cambodian Chamber of Commerce, the Cambodian Garment Association and the Vietnamese Trade Fair.

Exhibitors include companies from Britain, the Czech Republic, Germany, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, South Korea, Malaysia, Singapore, Spain, Sri Lanka, Switzerland, Taiwan, Thailand, the United States and Vietnam, organizers said.
