Cambodia to apply international law to protect Angkor [Cambodia to patent Angkor Wat?]

PHNOM PENH, 28 August 2012 (Cambodia Herald) - Cambodia plans to apply international law on intellectual property to protect the Angkor temples, Ministry of Commerce Secretary of State Dith Tina said Tuesday.

Dith Tina told a news conference in Siem Reap that Cambodia would sign a treaty with the World Intellectual Property Organization, whose head is currently visiting Cambodia.

He said any replicas of the Angkor temples would adversely affect Cambodia's economy and culture.
