Phnom Penh Post

RSiam, the country-music business unit of RS Public Company Limited, a Thai entertainment company, is seeking partners in Cambodia and Laos, said RS executive vice president Soopachai Nillawan.

RS owns a record label, produces programming for television, makes films, publishes magazines and promotes concerts.

The company is now in talks with companies from the Lao and Cambodian telecommunication and broadcasting sectors and expects to move into Vientiane before entering Cambodia.

“As our country music is a contemporary style, we believe it will suit local tastes in Laos, particularly in Vientiane, the capital,” Soopachai Nillawan told The Nation on Wednesday.

RS is seeking to introduce digital music downloads via mobile-phone networks and plans to have an exclusive agent in both Cambodia and Laos, who would conduct marketing events for sponsors of RS, he said.
