Greatness

Most visitors describe Angkor Wat, as a majestic and an astounding temple. You could feel the sense of greatness and admiration, when you visit it.

It’s mind boggling, If you could imagine yourself as our king Javaraman VII,who responsible for all of that project. Imagine once he was standing there on his very first day on the site, where it supposed to be built. The site, must have been filled with tall trees and grasses every where, and there was not a single stone that could be dug out or cut to shapes near by. All of the stones that were used to build Ankor Wat,were mostly cut out from hundred of kilo meters away deep inside Thailand, where in 12th century, it used to be a part of our kingdom, and transported them by roads.

How they did it is not fully understood by our modern architects as some of those stones were so huge and heavy beyond, human’s capacity to lift, and mind you, there were no cranes or machines were used to help in those days, all were made by hand, but all impossible project didn't deter the king's of his splendid-dreamed-design.

Angkor Wat was not designed in the mind of our king for competition for price or award winning or as his palace, but for a sacred place, where all his subjects young and old could all come and worship or look up to.
Angkor Wat back then stood as the first tallest building in the universe for hundred of years and it is still the world biggest temple to this present day. But for all of that magnificent achievement, which is very rare for every human being to posses the vision of the huge project like that without the spirits of greatness.

Somehow, this heritage of greatness is still be seen in our heroes, who had sacrificed their lives for us and who are still alive and dare to fight with traitor Hun and his cronies, who are sick and murderous.
Mam Sonando's patriotism is like a dream. He wrote beautiful poetry that came out of his pure heart for children to feel brave to defend our country. He enlighted people young and old about their rights and their liberties. These are the staff that not many people would not dare or willing to speak out, as Hun and his cronies have been renounced for killing a lot of our compatriots in the past.

You certainly agree with me that Mam Sonando’s commitment about enlightening our people, without fear, is certainly a clear reflection of his state of mind that he has felt. You can feel his immense of his fearlessness, of his selflessness and of his total devotion for the nation. Some thing that we all should uplift and glamorise his spirit of being greatness. Perhaps, greatness is the state of mind that are the source of courage and bravery, that is something that every Khmer should obtain, in order to achieve something great in life, like Mam Sonando does and like our ancestor did.

Vision are eyes in the mind, bravery and courage are our wings ,together they are a dynamic engine, that fly us to freedom.
