PHNOM PENH, 24 July 2012 (Cambodia Herald) - Indonesia is ready to deploy its
observers in the Provisional Demilitarized Zone around Preah Vihear
Temple, a government spokesman said Tuesday.
Kuy Kuong, spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, said that Indonesia was "waiting for Cambodia and Thailand to prepare documents, especially terms of reference.”
He added that Cambodia had already agreed entirely with the proposed terms of reference.
Cambodia withdrew almost 500 troops from around the Preah Vihear Temple last week. They have been replaced with about 300 forestry police to conserve the area and prevent illegal wood cutting, human trafficking and other border crimes.
