PHNOM PENH, 7 July 2012 (Cambodia Herald) - Prime Minister Hun Sen
is to meet with Chinese Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi next Tuesday,
sources said.
The sources said the meeting with Yang, on the sidelines of the annual meeting of foreign ministers from ASEAN and its dialogue partners, was expected to cover bilateral issues.
Yang will be in Phnom Penh to meet with ASEAN foreign ministers and attend the ASEAN Regional Forum next week.
The meetings are expected to include a code of conduct for the South China Sea, a strategic waterway claimed in whole or in part by China and ASEAN members Brunei, Malaysia, the Philippines and Vietnam.
During the meetings, ASEAN and China are expected to sign a memorandum of understanding on the Southeast Asia Nuclear Weapon Free Zone Treaty, sources said.
