Golden memories . . .

Prout Dara - Bannarath & Ros Serey Sothea

NB: From Khmerisation Reader...:

"Dedicate this song to the unfortunate lover
players who could not afford to hire a director !!!"

From Khmerisation Reader: "Thank you for playing Sous Song Veaja.
He is second only to Sin Sisamouth."
You are very welcome. Here's another one sung by Mr Sous Song Veaja:

Thank you for playing Sous Song Veaja.
He is second only to Sin Sisamouth.

the fact is that there are lots of other good singers in Cambodia these day. Older generations tend to like See Sa ant and country kinds of songs sing by that guy with the big mole on his face (Veaja). I appreciate all singers and musics. Just some can do better than others.

Who is Sous Song Veaja? Was he the singer in this video clip?

Anonymous said...

8:49am,
Yes, Sous Song Veaja ( or Viecha ) was the singer
in the first video.

To 8:12 am,
We too enjoy all types of music.
But slow rythim types of songs are much harder to sing than those fast pace ones.
They require excellent voice and extensive voice training than say, Rock, or Rapps.

Dear Khmerization,

Thank you very very much for playing Mr. Sous Song Veaja songs.
We admire and love Mr. Sin Sisamouth. He was and still is the best. Mr.Sous Song Veaja is the next best.
Again, we thank you dearly.

just remember, your taste is not everyone else taste, people has different favoritism. If you like Hen Sen, you'll think he is the best. If you don't like Hen Sen, you'll think that he is Vietcong's slave, for instant.

11:24PM,

Could you keep politics out of the discussion for a moment and enjoy some romantic songs?

Anonymous said...

To 12:24 am,
Oh, you are great. We love you !!!

To 11:24 pm

Why do you need to lecture on everyone's taste ?
When Khmerization plays the songs sung by YOUR favorite singer, go ahead it is your turn to
brag about it.
Thank you

I wouldn't say Mr. Veaja is second maybe third or fourth. His style of singing is slow with no uniqueness. For faster beat he just sing his versus a little faster. Fast or slow beat its how you sing it and nobody does it better than Sin Sisamouth and Ros Sereysothea. They can deliver a vocal on fast rock n roll beat that many singers can't reproduce. Anybody who listen old to new songs back to back can tell the difference. The new singers need to put their corrupted money into use with vocal training. But sadly, they can cheat out their talents because over sea Khmers don't care about talents. We just keep sponsoring them over and pay the female or male stars for a one night stand.

The End

You are entitled to YOUR own opinion.
Just don't try to put down somebody else's.

7:12 AM

I did not put down anyone. Just a constructive criticisms. Everything I`ve said is facts not fiction. Mr. Veaja as I address him with respect is not second to Sin Sisamouth. As I said, he has no uniqueness in his vocal. If you like it fine. Could he be better yes, with some professional vocal training. Why won`t you play his music back to back and ask yourself, was there any uniqueness with each of his songs? NO!

If you enjoy his musics and many Korean wannabe nowadays, then fine. I`m not going to bust your chops. But don`t think they are great. Flat mono tone vocals.

The End

To 6:41am,
Let' s turn the table around.
Beside Sin Sisamouth, who is YOUR male favorite
singer ?

Anonymous said...

old goat 1124, why you have to ask?

Anonymous said...

Am sure. Mr SongVeaja just loves and respects Mr Sin Sisamouth as we all did.
Therefor we better listen and enjoy the well and perefct poetry of our older Khmer generation.

There is one more singer Eing Nary, he also sings good.
But comparing him and Sous Song Veaja, Sous Song Veaja is better.
But Mr. Veaja needs voice training.

he is ugly and don't like his mole

Oh come on guy/gale, be matured. When I was 10 years old
I wanted the earth surface so smooth so I could uniformally
ride my bike without striving uphill.
If my wish was granted then we do not have beautiful mountain
to see, creek or river to enjoy. Life and nature are
beautiful by themself without our judgement, just
appreciate them. Now I wish all lives are loved and all
loves are living just like it intends to be in the first
place. Everybody made mistakes,so did the genes and
that's why S S Veacha had his mole.
But isn't he look like JVarman 8 !!!

Anonymous said...

Look, I really don't want to wade in, but Mr Veacha himself had probably gone to great lengths and expenses to have that mole[s]implanted in the first place! And if it's something that has been with him from birth then he probably has accepted it as something of a blessing!

Besides, who knows what some women find attractive in a man! So please don't make a mountain out of a mole-hill? [OK, just playing]

Ladies and Gentlmen,

Unlike Sin Sisamouth, Sous Song Veaja was actually a farm boy and a farmer in the province of Svay Rieng.
He learned to sing by imitating Sin Sisamouth, while tending the rice fields, and washing his oxes, etc...

Grandpa Sin Sisamouth is no longer with us, so far only
Uncle Veaja can sing as close as Grandpa.
Hence we should encourage and support Uncle Veaja, with his mole and all.

See samuth is out of date

Anonymous said...

The ages, conservative people still love samut. They dont like changing. It is really hard to teach the old dog a new trick. Yeah..keep on driving cow cart as transportation while other countries drive cars. Just want to tick off some old folks here. Be nice in responds. Ha..ha...

Anonymous said...

To 7:45am and 9:51am,

Yes, we are responding to you nicely.
Sin Sisamouth and Sous Song Veaja sing slow rithym songs, but they also can sing fast rithym
songs.
Fast-pace songs, such as Rocks and Rapps, are much easier to sing, especially when the singers are " high "( you know exactly what I mean ).
The slow-pace songs require excellent voice, extensive voice training, and life style disciplines to treasure that voice.
We do enjoy both genre of songs and music.
So now, we install MP3, Cyrus radio, internet Hot
Spot so we can stream videos to our oxes carts
!!!

Enjoy the music, Sisters and Brothers !!!
