Senior CPC leader meets Cambodian PM

 PHNOM PENH, June 13 (Xinhua) -- Visiting senior leader of the Communist Party of China (CPC) He Guoqiang met here Wednesday with Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen, calling on the two sides to make efforts to advance the China-Cambodia strategic partnership of cooperation to a new height.
He Guoqiang, a member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Central Committee Political Bureau and the head of the CPC Central Commission for Discipline Inspection, conveyed greetings from Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao to Hun Sen, who is also the vice chairman of the ruling Cambodian People's Party (CPP), applauding the tradition friendship between the two peoples which has promoted robust growth of bilateral relations in the recent years.

To maintain such a momentum, He Guoqiang proposed that the two sides should continue to intensify high level mutual visits as well as the exchange of views on the issues of common concern, expand pragmatic cooperation in sectors such as agriculture, water resource, trade, infrastructure and tourism, and encourage the Chinese companies to invest and establish business in Cambodia.
The exchange and cooperation between CPC and CPP should be further strengthened, He Guoqiang said, adding that the two nations should also improve their coordination on the significant regional and international issues.
Echoing He Guoqiang's views on the bilateral relations, Hen Sun said that China and Cambodia have established high degree of political mutual trust that serves to the growth of the bilateral relations.
Hen Sun recalled the successful visit paid by Chinese President Hu Jintao in this March, expressing his belief that the two sides could work together and score more achievements of bilateral cooperation.
Hen Sun expressed his appreciation to China's long-term help and assistance to Cambodia that has played a vital role in boosting the country's national development and spoke highly of the achievements China has made in its social and economic development.
Visiting as a guest of the CPP and the Funcinpec Party, He Guoqiang arrived in Phnom Penh on Tuesday for a three-day good- will visit. Cambodia is the second leg of his four-nation tour following his visit to Laos. He Guoqiang will also visit Malaysia and Russia.
