PHNOM PENH, 13 June 2012 (Cambodia Herald) - Cambodia and China
signed seven economic agreements Wednesday after Prime Minister Hun Sen
met with He Guoqiang, politburo standing committee of the Communist
Party of China.
The agreements cover roadworks, dam development, health, communications and two aircraft, sources said.
The sources said four agreements were signed by Finance Minister Keat Chhon and Liu Liange, vice-president of the Export-Import Bank of China. These included three credits for extending National Road 6, improving National Road 44 and developing a multi-purpose dam in Battambang. The two also signed a memorandum of understanding for a credit concession covering 3-5 years of cooperation.

Health Minister Mam Bun Heng and Ji Ping, deputy general secretary of the Fund for Peace, signed a separate agreement for the construction of a health center in Sen Sok district, the sources said.
Dul Koeun, chief of logistics and finance at the Ministry of Interior, signed another accord for emergency communications and traffic control equipment with He Liyang, vice director of Chinese telecommunications giant Huawei Technologies.
Chao Pirun, head of the technical and materials department
at the Ministry of National Defense, meanwhile signed an agreement on the provision two MA60 turboprop aircraft with China's Deputy Trade Minister Chen Jian, the sources said.
