Hun Sen Nephew Denies Australian Report of Drug Trafficking

Monday, 26 March 2012

“The Age accused me of involvement with heroin, but do they have proof?”
Hun To (pictured), an influential nephew of Prime Minister Hun Sen, has denied a media report in Australia that he is wanted there for drug trafficking and other crimes.

The Age, an Australian newspaper, reported Monday that Australian police suspect Hun To of “heroin trafficking and money laundering” with a crime syndicate there.

Hun To was the target of an inquiry between 2002 and 2004, the Age reported. “But a plan to arrest and question Hun To in Melbourne was thwarted because his application for a visa was denied by Australian embassy officials in Phnom Penh, with one official citing the need to avoid a diplomatic incident,” the Age said.

Hun To is the son of Hun Sen’s brother, Hun Neng, the governor of Kampong Cham province.

Hun To told VOA Khmer Monday he was not involved in drug trafficking or other crimes reported in the news.

“The Age accused me of involvement with heroin, but do they have proof?” he said.

He said he hoped to file suit against the newspaper, but would not discuss details.

Bob Carr, Australia’s foreign minister, who was on a visit to Cambodia, declined to comment on the report. The Age did not respond to e-mail questions late Monday.

Khieu Sopheak, a spokesman for the Cambodian Interior Ministry, told VOA Khmer Monday the Cambodian government works closely with Australian law enforcement. He said it has not received criminal information related to Hun To.

Hun to do you remember what did you do in the Year's 1980's in Kompong Cham? You was just a hooligan who was nearly shot dead by a peasant's son in a row at Troeung, near Phnom Pros.

Then in the year 1990's you was involved in illegal logging, traffic of influence with AH HUN CHOCH, AH SOUN the Planet Earth, and other illegal activities including drug traffiquing..

Later you became AH OKNHA and a millionaire. Where did you get all you money?

People Know who you are. You are part of the HUN Gang that include HUN SAN, HUN CHOCH, HUN Sophea and his father Yim Dara, Hun Neng and Hun Sen whose daughters interchange their husbands...

3:09 PM, you provided a real interesting detail about Hun To's criminal activities. Thanks for that.

What I don't understand is why the Australian embassy Cambodia denied Hun To a visa so he could not be arrested in Australia. The embassy is protecting a criminal, drug trafficker to Australia. Australia is a state of law, so the let Hun To off this way is like Hun To is above the law. This guy did many awful and unspeakable things to ordinary people- including wounding, raping, killing, torturing etc, etc.
It's is not surprise that he is suspected of trafficking drug into Australia as I have heard how he behaved when he was in Australia in around 2003-2004. Someone said he was nearly killed by Cambodian gangsters when he was in Australia because he tried to act so arrogant like when he was in Cambodia, trying to bully everyone he had a dealing with. The guy who told said the gangsters were waiting for him to come back to Australia so they could teach him a lesson, but they never saw him comes back. If he was to be arrested by Australian police he would be luckier than he was to be killed by the gangsters.
