For its first Cambodian sale, Christie’s will be presenting 46 works that have been donated by various artists to the event. The sale is a charitable event, with profits going to Cambodia Living Art, an organisation dedicated towards supporting artistic creation amongst the youth of the country.
This event is running alongside the second edition of the Salon de Créateurs which is taking place in the Cambodian capital from 3 to 13 March 2012. Lionel Gosset, the head curator and director of the “Inventaires” department at Christie’s France will conduct the sale. He said in an interview with lePetitJournal.com that he is “very happy to introduce Christie’s and the auction world to Cambodia”.
