PHNOM PENH (Cambodia Herald) - Cambodia and Brazil signed a memorandum of understanding Friday to boost bilateral economic and trade cooperation, including the production of spare parts for Brazilian buses and aircraft, while offering scholarships for Cambodian students to study in Brazil.
The memorandum was signed by Ouch Borith (pictured), secretary of state at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, and Brazilian counterpart Maria Edileuza Fontenele Reis.
Ouch Borith said Brazil was planning to build a gas factory in Cambodia to supply Brazilian bus and aircraft producers, which include aerospace giant Embraer, the world's third-largest aircraft manufacturer with considerable shares in the global markets for commercial, military and executive aircraft.
Brazil has also pledged to vote for Cambodia as non-permanent member of the United Nations Security Council, Ouch Borith said.
