Hun Sen said the event of 4-6 July 1997 was not a coup d'etat

Prime Minister Hun Sen (pictured) has denied accusations that he had staged a coup d'etat against his coalition partner, Funcinpec Party, on 5-6 July 1997.

"Don't accuse me of staging a coup d'etat. Please look at the pictures, we still have all the pictures because those people (Funcinpec people?) took the pictures, but they dropped those pictures, so we see the pictures of them, such as Brother Kieng Vang (Funcinpec's Secretary of State of Interior Ministry), sitting very relaxed. Please call Brother Kieng Vang to explain and let him watch the film and also explain to him", Said Hun Sen.

"On that day Brother Kieng Vang was wearing a green shirt and was sitting very relaxed in the car, look unlikely that he was chased and attacked by anyone, but looked like he gave the orders to attack and Ho Sok (another Funcinpec's Secretary of State of Ministry of Interior) ordered one side to telephone the other side, it was very incredible. So, on that day, if I gave the orders to attack, we needed only 15 minutes, we don't need more than that because we have mobilised/regrouped already, so we don't need a long time (to finish them off", said Hun Sen.

Hey dictator Hun Sen, stop lying through your teeth. How many members of Funcinpec Party were killed under your order by Hok Lundy and other CPP Generals.

Also, this fucking idiot Hun Sen has ordered to grenade into the foreigners, that injured Americans as well. This dictator has tried his best to lie to fulfill his Hanoi master's expectation and satisfy his Hanoi masters who installed him as the stupid Prime Minister by Viet/Yuon forces or military.

Hun Sen is very very bad and he did not understand what are all behind the problems coming from Hanoi and illegal Yuon/Viet rich/wealthy Yuon crooks/thieves in Cambodia, for example, Suy Sophan (Yuon bitch).

It doesn't matter what Hun Sen said. The fact is still the fact. It was a coup. He ordered an attack on Funcinpec forces who was elected by the people in 1997. Hun Sen was the loser in the 1993 election and Funcinpec Party was the winner of that election. During and after the coup, more than 100 Funcinpec, including Ho Sok, were tortured and brutally executed. Hun Sen toppled an elected party by force, therefore it was a coup. Period!

That is his side of the story.

There is always two sides in each story, especially when it comes down to two parties' conflict.

The Khmer-Korms were brainwashed and influent by the Siam, the Khmer-kroms by the Viet and today of Khmer-smere leaders by the Viet again. The leader of Khmer-korms said, “ if anyone dares to talk against our friendships (Siam) you will be punished or to be killed”, all the same shit of history, the Khmer-korms, the Khmer-kroms and the today’s Khmer-smere leaders.

4 February 2012 6:33 AM - Don't understand what you are talking about? Not sure what you mean.

Yes, Khmer people who voted for CPP have been brainwashed and some of Khmer Krom and Khmer Leur have been brainwashed.

It's about coup d’état. People need to focus on topic. Instead, they seem to say the same thing over and over again for every post. It is so boring and not so much creative. They don’t seem to have much thought or knowledge. It’s becoming more and more as KI Media.

I’m wondering, if the party of opposition will win the election in the near future, how about the Cambodian armed forces? Are they only protecting national interest or still protecting the interest of CPP party?, I don’t know much about Cambodian constitution.

is there any of you above in pp during 5-6 july? or just heard other people saying? i was there! and yes that was a coup but not by hun sen but by rannarit.just ask pp people yourself.

8:34 PM. It was a coup, ordered by Hun Sen. Even if Rannarit did start it, it was Hun Sen that took it to the next level by murdering over 100 opposition members. Rannarit, was the winner of 1993 and 1997 Election. Hun Sen didnt want to give up power, thus creating a coup and gave himself power, backed up the Vietnamese party. Ask former FUNCP members and CPP members, they will tell you more.

8:34 PM, Ranariddh was the election winner, so there was no need to stage a coup because he was already the winner. Hun Sen was in power because he threatened Ranaiddh and UNTAC after he lost the 1993 election and Ranariddh agreed to let him join the coalition government. Ranariddh won 58 seats, Son Sann won 10 seats and Moulinaka won 1 seat, so it was more than 2/3 majority to form a government. No need for Hun Sen who won only 51 seats at that time, but Hun Sen threatened war, that's why they allowed him to join the coalition government because they don't want anymore war.
Hun sen ordered his troops to surround Taing Krosaing military compound and rRnariddh's compound and attacked them when they refused to surrender. That was a coup against the election winner. Hun Sen lost the election so he has no right to stay in the government if the winner didn't want him to stay. Period!
