PHILADELPHIA - Philadelphia's Cambodian community wants answers after a man was found dead, gagged and beaten, in his Olney home.
The victim's wife found Sophos Siv's body in their home on the 200 block of Ruscomb Street on Tuesday.
The community is a tight knit group of about 20,000 people. Over 100 Cambodian friends and family members turned out at the home of 40-year-old Siv, stunned by his murder.
Police say two or more suspects broke in through this back window Tuesday afternoon, when Siv confronted them he was tied up, shot and beaten to death.
He had been shot multiple times and he also had a 45 pound weight plate that they had taken and bounced off his head
Friends and family members say siv helped members of the Cambodian community get jobs, then drove them to work each day in this van.
Homicide detectives re-interviewed family members trying to determine why anyone would target siv. Police believe this was a home invasion gone bad.
Siv was murder victim number 34 in a bloody month of January in Philadelphia, and those close to him hope police can identify and arrest his killers.
