PHNOM PENH (CEN) - Cambodian authorities have turned down a Thai military request for about 500 monks and Yellow Shirt activists to cross into Cambodia to offer Buddhist prayers at Phnom Troap, sources said.
The sources said the request to travel to the mountain was made Sunday and rejected by Rear Admiral Srey Doek, commander of Special Brigade No 3.
The situation on the mountain in Preah Vihear province appeared tense after the request was turned down.

មេបញ្ជាការកងពលធំអន្តរាគមន៍លេខ៣ ការពារនៅព្រំដែនព្រះវិហារ លោកឧត្តមសេនីយ៍ឯក ស្រី ឌឹក មានប្រសាសន៍ប្រាប់មជ្ឈមណ្ឌលព័ត៌មានដើមអម្ពិលនៅថ្ងៃទី៩ ខែមករា ឆ្នាំ២០១២ថា ពួកគាត់មិនមែន មកសុំកម្ពុជាដើម្បីឡើងលើប្រាសាទព្រះវិហារទេ ពួកគាត់មកតាមទឹកដីរបស់គេ គឺមកតាមក្រោយទីតាំង ការពាររបស់កងទ័ពថៃ មិនមែនមកសុំឡើងលើប្រាសាទព្រះវិហារ ពួកគេមកនេះ មកសួរសុខទុក្ខ ឬធ្វើពិធីអ្វីផ្សេង។
លោកបញ្ជាក់ថា «មិនមានន័យថាគាត់ឡើងមកប្រាសាទព្រះវិហារទេ គឺពួកគេនៅក្រោយទីតាំងកងទ័ព របស់គាត់ឈរជើងនោះ បើយើងឈរទល់មុខគ្នាចំងាយពី៥០ទៅ៧០ម៉ែត្រ វាស្ថិតនៅក្រោយខ្សែត្រៀម របស់គាត់ទេ»។
លោក ស្រី ឌឹក បន្តថា ចំពោះបញ្ហានៅតាមព្រំដែនរវាងប្រទេសកម្ពុជា-ថៃសភាពការណ៍នៅធម្មតាពុំមាន អ្វីប្រែប្រួល ឬខុសប្លែកនោះទេ កងទ័ពកម្ពុជាបានដើរយាមល្បាតការពារគ្រប់ពេលវេលា មិនឲ្យមាន បញ្ហាអ្វីកើតឡើងនោះទេ។
ការជួបជុំរបស់ជនជាតិថៃបានធ្វើឡើងក្រោយពីលោកឧត្តមសេនីយ៍ទោមេបញ្ជាការកងទ័ពថៃភូមិភាគ២ បានមកសុំកម្ពុជាកាលពីថ្ងៃទី៨ ខែមករា ឆ្នាំ២០១២ ដើម្បីសុំឲ្យព្រះសង្ឃ និង ប្រជាជនថៃជាង៥០០នាក់ ចូលមកអុជធូបនៅភ្នំទ្រព្យតំបន់ប្រាសាទព្រះវិហារ ប៉ុន្តែត្រូវបានភាគីកម្ពុជាបដិសេធ៕

Yea sure, just like when monks and nuns rushed into Preah Vihear from Thailand to pray. One thing lead to another, we all know the outcome, right? Those weren't monks or nuns, they're Thai yellow Shit protesters.

Only for the people, who are proud declared themselves as Khmer descent, like Khmer Surin, Khme Kuy or Lao-Khmer, should allow them to come to pray, but not for a political action.
Cambodian leaders must remember that Thai nuns and monks used the same tactics to trespass into Cambodian territory at Preah Vihear temple in 2008, got themselves arrested by Cambodian police in order to use it as an excuse to send Thai troops to rescue them. But they stayed there until today triggering many deadly armed clashes. Cambodian troops must stop them at all cost this time.
I hope ICJ's rule the case quickly...before another deadly clash erupting!
