Opposition MPs ask Hun Sen to help the evicted disabled soldiers and HIV-positive people

Published: 25-Jan-12

PHNOM PENH (Cambodia Herald) - Opposition Members of Parliament (MP) sent a letter to Prime Minister Hun Sen to ask for his intervention in order to help the disabled and the HIV-positive people who were evicted from the Borei Keila area earlier this month.

Mu Sochua (pictured), an active MP from the opposition, and a group of disabled soldiers and HIV-positive former Borei Keila residents held a press briefing in front of the National Assembly in order to ask for houses as they were evicted from Borei Keila.

Mu Sochua said that the letter which was signed by five MPs from Sam Rainsy Party was sent to Prime Minister Hun Sen on January 23 to ask for his intervention to help the former Borei Keila residents after they were evicted without giving proper compensation or houses.
