Hun Manit, second-eldest son of Prime Minister Hun Sen, was promoted to colonel and appointed as deputy chief of the Defence Ministry’s intelligence department last Saturday, after the Royal Cambodian Armed Force’s previous intelligence chief died last week.
Hun Manit, 30, previously held the post of lieutenant colonel. Hun Sen’s oldest son Hun Manet, 34, is a major general and the deputy commander of the Headquarter of Infantry, deputy commander of Hun Sen’s Bodyguard Unit and head of the Anti-Terrorism Unit.
In addition, General Chea Dara, deputy commander-in-chief of RCAF in charge of Preah Vihear Direction, was appointed as chief of the Defence Ministry’s intelligence department, replacing General Mol Roeup, who died on January 12 at 62.
Mol Roeup had been a key military figure and ally of Hun Sen. He allegedly took part in serious human rights violations during factional fighting between CPP and royalist Funcinpec forces in1997.
Major General Siek Socheat, deputy commander of the front-battle region 3, was also appointed as the chief of the RCAF’s border affairs office.
Pol Saroeun, commander-in-chief of the RCAF, said during the appointment ceremony at RCAF headquarters that the appointments were made based on command experience.
Separately, the National Authority for Preah Vihear and the National Committee for the World Heritage issued a joint statement on Friday, expressing their regret at the recent activities carried out by a group of Thai nationalists, including the erection of a statue of Buddha on the Phnom Trap, close to the Temple of Preah Vihear and well inside the International Court of Justice’s map of the Provisional Demilitarized Zone.
“The NAPV and NCWH strongly condemn this activity, which not only clearly violates the ICJ order issued on 18 July 2011, but also contradicts the spirit of the positive results of the recent General Border Committee meeting between the Minister of Defence of Cambodia and the Minister Defence of Thaland,” read the statement.

You have just recently reiterated your point of no vulgar or condescending language in the previous article about the same news. Do you consider the two above comments, especially the latter, a part of what you classify as things that needed to be kept out or else be censored on your site?
I have posted a comment that you took as borderlines offensive and insulting. I'm just wondering what you think of these two.

It’s really hard to change people’s mentality because some were raised up with low or high educations and different kinds of living, some repeated the words F@@KING, BITCH, Mother F@@ker etc… a hundred times a day of their lifetime.
Sure, if we sound those words in Khmer it’s really perturbed, some expressed their angers in Khmer words. therefore, Khmerization tried to avoid those matters and we, kun Khmers should know.
It is my point of view, Kampong Cham province. Cambodia
like father like son.......want to rule this country as his. He didn't want to share this so-called srok Khmer with all the Khmers...
I just hope he and his families (all his families) get hit by lighting so that all Khmers can have some peace.

The word "moron" is not vulgar if it is used to describe a third person, but it is offensive if said directly to a particular person. Politicians have used this word quite often. In this case, if Hun Manit complains to me then I will remove it because the comment was directed at him, however I deleted one comment using the word "moron" because it is directed against another commenter, which I believe could trigger an offensive comment from him. I repeat again: if you want your voice heard, please avoid using offensive, profane or vulgar comments. Thank you.

Come on! Don’t compare your five-year-old daughter with Hun manit..! but, how could you know if you’ve never been in classroom with his classmates, it is ridiculous indeed.
