PHNOM PENH, (Cambodia Herald) - Cambodia will host an international film festival in Siem Reap in February, organizers said.
The Angkor Wat International Film Festival's website said the festival will be held from February 17-19. The festival will present a selection of Cambodian and international films as well as as film makers panels.
Siem Reap, home to Angkor Wat, was selected as the setting for the Angkor Wat International Film Festival because it represents an admirable endeavor to preserve culture and the environment through ecotourism, according to the website.
It added that Angkor Wat is a testament to the majesty of an ancient culture preserved in stone for the world to experience as well as a symbol of pride.
The festival will be presenting selected Cambodian and international films free to local Cambodians to expose them to cinema from their own countrymen as well as international cinema and the people and cultures of the world.
