AKP Phnom Penh, January 25, 2012 –The 8th Senior Labor Officials’ Meeting and the 5th Labor Ministerial Meeting between Cambodia and Thailand began on Jan. 24 in Siem Reap provincial town.
The three-day bilateral meetings focus on the implementation of the MoU on the Cooperation in the Employment of Workers between the Cambodian Ministry of Labor and Vocational Training and the Thai Ministry of Labor.
Both sides have discussed about the issuance of Certificate of Identity (CI) for the Cambodian workers, lowering visa fees, registration and documentation for day migrant workers from Cambodia, etc.
Currently, over 200,000 Cambodian laborers are legally working in Thailand.
