PHNOM PENH, (Cambodia Herald) - Senior Cambodian and Thai military officials began a two-day meeting Monday to prepare for a ministerial meeting of the General Border Committee (GBC).
"The two-day GBC meeting is being held from 19 to 20 December 2011 to prepare for the GBC meeting on December 21, 2011 which will be led by Deputy Prime Minister and National Defense Minister Tea Banh and Yutsak Sasibrapha, the Thai Defense minister," said Chum Socheat, spokesman at the Ministry of National Defense.
The spokesman said the two sides would review cooperation between the two armies. They will also discuss withdrawing troops from a demilitarized zone as ordered by the International Court of Justice in July, he said.
