SNOUL, Kratie, Dec 2 (Cambodia Herald) - Heng Samrin (pictured) expressed his firm support Friday for Prime Minister Hun Sen as candidate for the premiership in national elections in 2013.
He was speaking in his capacity as chairman of the national council of the United Front for the Development of the Cambodian Motherland, which was commemorating the 33rd anniversary of the United Front for the National Salvation of Kampuchea.
The United Front was founded in Snoul with Heng Samrin as chairman on December 2, 1978, five weeks before the liberation of Phnom Penh from Pol Pot's forces on January 7, 1979.
"The December 2 front not only saved us from brutal genocide but also helped build and develop the country everywhere to bring about a new Cambodia,” Heng Samrin told a gathering of an estimated 20,000 people including his counterparts from Vietnam and Laos.
“While everyone is happy about what we have achieved, we should not forget the dedication and sacrifices of our countrymen who fought against the inhumanity of the murderers of Democratic Kampuchea," he said, referring to the country's name between 1975 and 1979.
“Without the establishment of the December 2 front and the victory on January 7, we would not have anything like we have today. This is a fact of our history.”
Heng Samrin, who is also National Assembly president and honorary president of the Cambodian People's Party (CPP), praised government measures to eliminate crimes such as public land seizures, deforestation, the destruction of water resources and damage to public property.
"I would like to wholly support the decision of the CPP’s 26th meeting to nominate Samdech Hun Sen as the candidate for the prime minster of Cambodia for the next mandate.”
This year's anniversary was bigger than years as it was joined by Vietnam Fatherland Front chairman Huynh Dam and Lao Front for National Construction chairman Phanhdoungchet Vongsa. It was the first time that the heads of the three fronts had met in Snoul, the birthplace of the 14-member central committee of the United Front.
At the meeting in 1978, Chea Sim, the current CPP president, became deputy chairman of the front while Ros Samay was appointed secretary general.
Other members were Mat Ly, Bun Mi, Hun Sen, Mean Soman, Meas Samang, Neou Samon, Ven. Long Sim, Hem Samin, Chey Kanha, Chan Ven and Prach Sun.

You don't need PhD to be the leader and rich. Heng Samrin can't even read properly but he has the power to make the decision on Cambodia future. All most PhD qualify are working under his supervision.
What is your opioin about that?

Heng Samrin has never made any decision. His "National Front of Salvation" was created by Vietnam as a facade to invade Cambodia and topple the KR Ex camarade of Hen Samrin. It's Vietnam who made all the decisions.History will confirm that.

Honestly and seriously I can claim that I have more knowledge than Heng Samrin and Hun Sen combined. And while I'm at it I would say that scientifically,I now has more knowledge about Nature than Plato,Socrates,
Kepler,Newton or Laplace have had during centuries ago.
I also have doubt for Buddha "The Enlighten One" if he ever knew the real difference between Eclipse and the creature called Rahu who swallowed the Sun and the Moon. You see!...Knowledge and Degrees are so relative to Space and Time and Circumstances!
Steve Job and Bill Gates have many employees who hold Ph.D while the first two were the college dropouts. Robert Oppenheimer supervised and directed many scientists including many of whom were Nobel laureates while he himself didn't win any during the Manhattan Project.
Life is not fair and it shouldn't be until all creatures are self sustained and independent which means no preys and no predators. (To be continue,I'm hungry !I need some prey now to prepare dinner ! BRB)

Too much philosophy that's made you afloat in the air.
Heng Samrin created his so-called Ntional Front of Liberation of Kampuchea on December 2-1978. One month later, 0n 7 Junnary 1979 his "troops"overthrew the KR armies and toppled the so-called Kampuchea democratic regime.
So Heng Samrin and his armies were extra-strong.
In Fact in all Battambang areas where I were deported, on 7 Jannuary and many months following, I saw NONE of Khmer armies chasing the KR, but only VIETNHAMESE armies.No Khmer armies, I strongly raffirming here!
Dear readers of this blog, How many khmer armies did you really see coming to "liberatins" Khmer people?
Don't create HISTORY, Mr the CPP.
You CPP doesn't need to build a STUPA at Kratie province to commemorate your "FRONT". You cannot falsify the HISTORY

Hun Sen often bosted many of his " marmy divisions"coming to "liberate" the Country. But I too I never saw those armies.
In fact they were some individuals or soldiers accopagning the Viet armies as "GUIDES" and not professional soldiers. Even many current 3 stars were only those types of Khmer soldiers.
Vietmam needed the so-called Khmer Front to "come in" (invade)Cambodia. It was their INTEREST.

Chea Sim is Under House arrest. So Dictator Hun Sen had Heng Samrin as the next man. CPP is full of Pol Pot comrades recycling through the seats.
10:24 AM,you are spot one. Hun Sen just want to make Heng Samrin as the next front man and as his puppet. However, when Heng Samrin become powerful Hun Sen will get rid of him like he had gotten rid of Chea Sim.
Do you think Hun Sen gives a shit if you don't endorse him. He would just kill you if you don't sing the same song. Hun Sen fear no god. He is the god. Just friendly reminder, don't forget lightning strike. It strike on god too.
ah hun sen will get rid all of Chea Sim's clique and he does not trust Chea Sim and his group. No matter what heng samrin tries to kiss his ass, old heng samrin will be eliminated regardless. That is ah hun sen's win win policy to monopolize his power to control the whole government so that no one can challenge him. He seems very paranoia right now like a mad dog!
