A former Prime Minister of Cambodia is in Australia to meet with local Cambodian communities as part of his efforts to drum up support for his Human Rights Party led by Kem Sokha.
But 72-year-old Pen Sovann (pictured) says he has no plan to meet with Australian government officials during his one month visit.
He served as Prime Minister of Cambodia from June to December in 1981.
Mr Sovann was arrested and imprisoned for 10 years.
He was a founding leader of the Kampuchean People's Revolutionary Party.
The party is known today as the Cambodia's People Party and currently led by Prime Minister Hun Sen, who has been in power since 1981.

He served 10 years, did anybody know what was his crime? Why was he arrested? Hun Sen, did you tell your boss to get rid of him because he stopped listening to them? Did you tell them that you are more obedience?
You are nothing compare to Samdech Hun Sen. You claimed to be very popular with Khmer people and nationlist, why you did not get a single seat? You are nothing but scum!
My advice, you should go live at the temple. Without you, Khmer Rouge would not existed too. Khmer cannot trust you.
He is not 72 years, he is 75 years.

Mr Pen Sovann is the one!!! He will save Cambodia from Vietnam unlike Hun Sen will only giving more of our land to Vietnam and oppress his own people. If you guys wonder why Mr Pen Sovann is the one to lead our country, you should listen to his interview with Aus radio.
Mr Pen Sovann has 100% of my support !!!!!
All ex-KR are the same. You just happened to be on the wrong side of hun sen and you fell out of favor. Nice try disguising, but you would be the same hun sen given a choice.
Every one in the office in cambodia right now are all khmer rouge. The only none Khmer Rouge is to let the younger generation do the job.
