PHNOM PENH, (CEN) - Construction activity (pictured) soared 72 percent from a year earlier to $520 million in the 10 months to October, Economy and Finance Minister Keat Chhon said.
Speaking at public lecture on a draft Household Development Exploitation Management Law, the minister said 5,553 buildings were completed in the same period.
He also said that the new l
aw would play a key role in protecting the property market in a future crisis and strengthen the roles of developers and buyers.
The drafting of the new law follows the ministry's announcement of measures covering the real estate sector in 2009.
