AKP Phnom Penh, December 7, 2011 —Cambodian Prime Minister Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen and visiting Secretary General of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) H.E. Nguyen Phu Trong yesterday agreed to boost the bilateral trade up to US$5 billion by 2015.
Besides the bilateral trade, H.E. Nguyen Phu Trong urged more relations and cooperation with Cambodia in all fields, in particular among the youth, Ieng Sophalet, assistant to the Cambodian premier told reporters upon the meeting.
H.E. Nguyen Phu Trong suggested to boost the bilateral cooperation in all sectors, especially in trade, national defense, and cross-border crimes and drug trafficking prevention, he said.
In reply, the Cambodian prime minister expressed his full support to the Vietnamese leader’s suggestions and he hoped that the bilateral trade would hit US$5 billion by 2015.
In the first nine months of 2011, Cambodia-Vietnam bilateral trade reached US$2.07 billion, up 59 percent from US$1.3 billion for the same period last year, Samdech Techo Hun Sen told his Vietnamese guest.
Earlier on the same day, H.E. Nguyen Phu Trong was also received by Samdech Akka Moha Thamma Pothisal Chea Sim, President of the Senate.
In the meeting, both leaders highly evaluated the long-lasting friendship, solidarity and cooperation between the two nations, said H.E. Mam Sarin, chief of cabinet of the Cambodian senate president.
They congratulated each other on the new achievement and development and pledged to further strengthen the existing cooperation and friendship, he said.
H.E. Nguyen Phu Trong also met with Acting President of the National Assembly H.E. Nguon Nhel on Tuesday.
The visiting secretary general of the CPV Central Committee arrived in Cambodia on Dec. 6 for a three-day state visit at the invitation of His Majesty Norodom Sihamoni, King of Cambodia.

When did the Cambodian prime minister ever expressed his disagreement to the Vietnamese leaders of any and all suggestion and/or initiation, NEVER!!
