Garment workers in Cambodia.AKP Phnom Penh, October 19, 2011 –In the first nine months of this year, the total value of garment exports to international markets reached some US$3,132 million, according to the statistics of the Ministry of Commerce.
From January to September 2011, the garment exports saw an increase by more than US$864 million, from US$2,268 million during the same period last year, showed the statistics.
Major markets for Cambodian garment include the U.S., the EU, Canada, and Japan, etc.
Garment sector has now employed around 320,000 workers, most of them are women.
