Cambodian-Chinese Bilateral Trade Reaches Over US$1,400 Million

AKP Phnom Penh, October 12, 2011 –Cambodia-China bilateral trade has seen a remarkable increase during the first eight months of 2011.

From January to August 2011, the trade volume of the two countries rose to US$1,430 million, equivalent to the whole year of 2010, economic and commercial counsellor at the Chinese Embassy to Cambodia Mr. Jin Yuan said in a speech at the event of celebrating the 10th anniversary of China’s Zhengtai Co.

The trade volume of the two countries is expected to grow up to US$2,000 million in 2011, he said.

Cambodia’s main imports from China were garment raw materials, machinery, foodstuffs, electronics, furniture, light products, medicines and cosmetics, while Cambodia’s main exports to China were agriculture products, rubbers, fishery, timbers, and some garments and textiles.
