Battambang Authorities Unlawfully Taking Down Sam Rainsy Party Signs
Sam Rainsy Party strongly condemns Battambang authorities for pulling down four SRP signs in Battambang town this morning. This act is in violation of the Law on Political Parties which stipulates that each political party shall have its name and a symbol.
Furthermore, Battambang authorities violate Article 4 of the same law by allowing the Cambodian People's Party to keep their signs in the same locations.
Article 4 of the Law on Political Parties stipulates: " All political parties shall be entitled to the same rights, privileges and shall receive equal treatment from the Royal Government and authorities at all levels".
SRP is most concerned by this act of harassment and discrimination as registration of voters is nearing.
SRP calls for the concerned ministry to take immediate action and to ensure free and fair elections that begins with fair competition.

They are taking it down because the party didn't pay the rent fees. It looks bad from the pictures. Sam Rainsy group is such a opportunist.
The land owner asked the police to remove the post because the party is broke cannot afford to pay the sign fees. How are they going to run the country with their broke ass?
I don't know where Khmerization got this article but the true story should have been told. the land owner called the police and yes they happened to work for the royal government. If they want the sign to be posted, they needed to pay the fees. Don't blame others because you can't pay a fee. How low can you get, you can't even afford a sign fee. You want to become Prime Minister? I don't know about you but I had enough of broke ass leaders.
Who is the land owner? The signboards were planted near the CPP signboards in government owned land on the kerb of the street, yet only SRP's signs were removed and the CPP's signs were still there. Or the owner was threatened by the authority to remove the opposition's sign. But if it is the CPP's sign then it will be ok. This is Cambodia under Hun Sen where democracy is going backward because he is afraid of the SRP.
