Mr. Mao Monivan (pictured), former MP from the Sam Rainsy Party who was expelled from the party when he resigned as an MP and lauched a scathing attack on the party leadership, has been appointed deputy president of the Human Rights Party (HRP). He is one of two party presidents of the HRP. The other one is Keat Sukun.
In March, Mao Monivan was expelled from the SRP when he launched a scathing attack on Yim Sovan and Eng Chhay Eang, the two powerful figures in the SRP, after an internal dispute over a formula of MP rotation. Mao Monivan wanted all the sitting MPs to vacate their seats mid term for new MPs-in-waiting to take the seats in accordance with the agreement reached just before the 2008 election. However, the rest of the leadership seem to have reneged on the agreement and refused to vacate their seats, which then triggered an internal wrangling.

Anybody wanted to be promoted as
a high ranking post, got to defect from his own party to Kem Soka's HRP.
Same dirty trick as Ah Hun Sen.
This is how Khmer politicians had
done in the past. They take their
personal animosity to retialiate
the one group that they left, even
though, they known by the fact that
their acts would jeopardize Khmers
as the whole. If Khmers still have
that kind of person involving in
the Khhmer politics,Khmers will
and continue to suffer years and
years then Youn Ho Chi Ming will
full-field their mission.
