Cambodia Bans Chemical Weapons, But Welcomes Foreign Military Assistance

AKP Phnom Penh, August 10, 2011 –Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Defense H.E. Tea Banh yesterday said Cambodia welcomes foreign military assistances but ban chemical weapons.

Speaking at a national workshop to disseminate the law on prohibition of nuclear, biological and radiological, H.E. Tea Banh said to strengthen its military capacity and protect the security and public order, Cambodia welcomes foreign military assistance.

Cambodian accepts all form of military assistance such as weapon ammunition, military training materials but absolutely prohibits the production, acquisition, transfer, use, and stockpiling of nuclear, chemical, biological and radiological weapons to ensure peace, safety in the country and in the region, he said.

Strengthening military capacity and protect the security and public order only. What about national interest and territorial sovereignty from all sides, north, east, and west.

Thailand invasion was a woke up call for cambodian government not updating our military...Cambodia never learn from their past mistaken...Strong Economy! Strong Military! We can't have only one..?
