CONNOISSEURS of fine dining can now indulge their love of good food while helping raise money for needy children in Cambodia.
To be held at Pipers by the Lake, the September 23 event hopes to raise $10,000 for Children’s Sanctuary.
The orphanage, which houses up to 16 children, is the work of Dean couple Dr Andrew Clift and his wife Dawn Cornish.
Orphanage secretary Lyn Lea said the sanctuary was established in 2007 and provided help for some of the most vulnerable children.
“There are some children with disabilities, hearing and sight problems and others who are HIV positive,” Ms Lea said.
“And there are others whose families can simply no longer care for them while others have parents in jail.”
Ms Lea said the Children’s Sanctuary assisted many single mothers who otherwise would not have any support.
“The work of Dawn and Andrew, my former neighbours at Dean, is a labour of love and is making such a difference to the needy in Cambodia,” she said.
