AKP Phnom Penh, July 22, 2011 –The Russian Federation’s Ministry of Defense has decided to provide scholarships to 20 Cambodian military personnel to obtain military training in Russia.
The agreement on the scholarships was signed here on July 21 by Gen. Phan Nguon, Secretary of State of Defense Ministry of Cambodia and Lieutenant General Korotkov A.V, representative of Russia’s Ministry of Defense.
Speaking at the scholarship hand-over ceremony, Gen. Phan Nguon said the scholarships is part of cooperation between Cambodia’s Ministry of National Defense and the Russian Ministry of National Defense to further improve the military capability of Cambodian armed forces.

Wow. I like this. It means that we are training with the best special force like the Spetsnaz. Good for Cambodia. We should try to acquire the new AK-103s to replace the cold war era AK-47s and type-56s. They are much more accurate due to lesser recoil and use smaller ammos which means more deadly in terms of fatality. Thus, the soldiers can carry more ammos.
Its a very simple! If you look weak, powerless and look poors, people alway pickin on you...of course! I agree, we must build up our military strength to protect our country...Yes!
This is very good especially Russian has the best trainings. Russian has one of the best weapons. Russia and China are up to something while United States trying to influence its role in Southeast Asia but has double standard policies when Thailand became the agressor in Cambodia-Thai border dispute. US didnt do much to help Cambodia while the dispute going on, US released many Wikileak files that damage Cambodia's government reputation and its leadership. It looks like China and Russia gain more footing in Cambodia than US. I wonder why?
